Cowboy Boots, Love, and Country Music

"If you talk bad about country music, it's like saying bad things about my momma. Them's fightin' words."  - Dolly Parton

As a child, some of you would still call me a child, I grew up listening to country music. In the house, driving down the road in the car, or on my portable CD player, all I heard was country music. Don't get me wrong, I loved most of the 90's pop music (I was a BSB and Britney Spears fan), and I now have an appreciation for 80's music and current pop music along with some rock music. The thing is, hardly anyone else in my family listened to anything except country and gospel. I come from a relatively small town, and on top of that I live on the outskirts of town where all the farm land is. Until I was five years old we had cows in our backyard and I'd play in the hay loft of our barn, just to paint somewhat of a picture for you.
Country music runs through my veins. It's the stuff I am made up of. There are songs about country life, mama, trucks, heartaches, love, and dogs. Take a situation in my life, and I'm sure there is a country song about it. That moment when you want to quit your job, there's a song for that. That moment when something bad happens and you find out who your real friends are, there's a song for that. There is even a song for that Red Solo Cup you drink out of at the parties you go to. There are songs to make you feel more powerful, more alive. There are songs about God and church and simply loving life.
When you turn your radio to a country station, whether it's rocking George Strait or Hank Williams, there is a great chance that the song will be about love. I believe in that country music love. I believe that I will find that person that I can't live without. I believe that there is someone out there who loves me deeper than the holler and higher than the pines,  a love without end, amen. I believe in that kind of love because, like George Strait sings, that's the type of love daddy's have for their children. It's the type of love God has for his children. There is a man out there who will love me that much.
I wear my cowboy boots at least five out of seven days of the week. I rock my country music when I'm riding in my car. I was the FFA president of my high school. I love cows and horses more than any other animal. They're just beautiful and have so much personality. I wouldn't trade this life I live for anything. It has given me many reasons for living and has provided me with many life lessons that the city life could never have blessed me with.
